我们每天所遇见的人、事、物皆是受业力牵引的结果。由于过去世所造下的业，导致我们必须承受种种的果报。要消除不如意的恶果，唯有忏悔业障。
此部忏法的缘起，是应南梁开国皇帝梁武帝的郗徽皇后所求而办。郗徽皇后薨逝后堕为蟒蛇身，痛苦不堪，哀求梁武帝拯救。因此，梁武帝礼请高僧宝志禅师为郗徽皇后启建超度法会，以超度郗徽皇后脱离畜生道，从而传下此部《梁皇宝忏》忏法，距今已有约一千五百年的历史，兴盛不衰，利益世人。《梁皇宝忏》一共有十卷忏文，教义深邃，涵盖三藏十二部经典的精髓，其慈悲的力量不可思议，庄严而感化一切众生。修此《梁皇宝忏》忏悔法门，正是一种深刻忏悔、自我净化、积聚功德、福德的方式。

Everything that happens in our lives is a result of our cumulative karma. The only way to dispel the negative karma from our past lives and avoid unpleasant consequences is to sincerely repent.
The repentance sutra originated after the demise of Empress Chi, the wife of the Liang dynasty’s founding emperor. Upon her death, the empress was reincarnated as a python and appeared in Emperor Wu of Liang’s dreams, begging for salvation. As such, the emperor asked the eminent monk Master Zhi Gong to perform repentance rituals for the empress, liberating her from the Animal Realm.
1,500 years since then, the sutra Master Baozhi recited is still going strong, benefiting countless beings. The Emperor Liang Repentance Sutra has ten volumes in total, covering the essence of the Three Treasuries (Tripitaka) and the Twelve Divisions. Its power of compassion is boundless, capable of touching the hearts of all beings. Practising this repentance is an excellent way to cleanse one’s mind, generate good merits, and gather blessings.
