In “The Discourse of Great Blessings” (Maha Mangala Sutta), the deities asked the Buddha: “Many deities and men, desiring what is good, have pondered upon just what blessings are. Tell me what the highest blessing is?” In the New Year of 2021, let us practise together to achieve the highest blessing.

By practising the Four Brahma Viharas (loving kindness, compassion, altruistic joy, equanimity) with the awakening mind during this challenging pandemic, blessings will naturally flow into our country and our homes under the new norm. So will the Buddhasasana continue to flourish.

If everyone mindfully practises the teachings of the Buddha in “The Discourse of Great Blessings” in accordance with the flow of impermanence and kamma (cause and condition), one can ignite the fire of life to inherit one’s responsibility and mission physically, mentally and spiritually.

With compassion and selflessness of all front liners, unity of nation, abstaining from unwholesome deeds, being patient and generous – we have safeguarded our country.

With the inheritance of the wholesome value of caring, serving and supporting our parents, loving and taking good care of our wives and children, residing in a peaceful & comfortable place, being respectful, obedient, contented and grateful – our family will prosper!

With the help and commitment of all Buddhist volunteers who remember their intention of propagating the Dhamma – all master’s teachings, meditation and Dhamma assembly have shifted from physical hall (offline) to online. The whole world is now able to connect with the Three Jewels at the same time – to get closer to the wiser ones, able to listen, learn, discuss & practise the Dhamma. Thus, prolonging the Buddha’s dispensation.

The year of Metal Ox is around the corner, may you be free from worry and anxiety, may whatever fortune you have acquired not be lost, may you be safe, be well and happy.
