A virtual exam blessing session has been conducted on 29th August 2021 for students sitting for major examinations as a motivational program, which brings about calmness, confidence and collectedness.

The session led by Dr Bhante A. Siri Yasassi, abbot of Dhamma Vijaya Sati started off with a dhamma talk by Bhante himself followed by exam blessing and chanting. Parents are also involved in giving their blessings after the recitation of determination puja by students following the lead of Bhante Yasassi. Parents and teachers of Sunday Dharma School also took the opportunity to perform “Patidana”, transference of merits to the departed and ancestors by offering robes, requisites and food to monks from Dharma-Vijaya Main Monastery, Sri Lanka.

Calmness gives the power to overcome all obstacles in life. “Listen to the Dhamma will calm the mind, enable them to think more clearly and remember things better and as a result will enhance their performance in exams. If the mind is not settled, then one cannot study” – Ven Aggacitta.
